Kelly is a ghostwriter, book coach and editor. Kelly has written 30+ books, some for New York Times bestselling authors. She’s been writing her weekly newspaper column since 2001 and serves as a judge for the international Erma Bombeck Essay Competition. Kelly was hired by Larry Winget (television commentator and New York Times bestselling author) and Suzanne Evans (NY Times bestseller and multi-millionaire business coach) to be the Book Coach for their high level mentoring programs. Through her online and live programs and classes, and working one-on-one, Kelly has helped countless clients become authors.
Working with Kelly, you get started. You get done. You get published.
Many celebrities, politicians, athletes, and even famous authors do not write their own books. Many people just like you don’t either.
You know you want a book; you want to be an author. You just don’t have the time or the desire to write it yourself.
As your ghostwriter, I work with your material, your content, your story, and craft it into an engaging, readable, organized, well-written book. The subject matter is yours; I am your wordsmith. The book is written in your voice. It will sound just like you in tone, phrasing, and expertise.
You get the credibility, exposure, and opportunities that come with being an author. You just don’t have to spend your precious time and energy writing it.
Do you do your own taxes or fix your own car? Why do you think you should know how to write a book? Don’t put pressure on yourself to do something that is not your area of expertise or your joy. My clients prefer to devote their energy to their business and their life. They do not want to take time away from their work (or their weekends). Ghostwriting is the perfect solution. You get your book done in just a few months without driving yourself crazy. If you do not like to write or are very busy or struggle with organization/idea overwhelm or simply know you have better things to do, it is time for a ghostwriter.
Not all my book clients come to me for ghostwriting. Many want to write their own book. They also know they need help.
HOW TO START.
HOW TO KEEP GOING AMIDST DISTRACTIONS OF WORK AND LIFE.
HOW TO FINISH and PUBLISH.
I am the HOW TO resource and cheerleader/buttkicker/trusted confidante. We map out the purpose and plan for your book as well as the outline of your chapters. I do developmental editing as you go so you never stray off track and you do not waste precious time having to rewrite over and over. We set regular deadlines for submitting chapters and have accountability calls to discuss whatever comes up. Those discussions include book content, overcoming mental obstacles, how to use the book as a positioning tool in your arena, how to grow your platform, resources for publishing, speaking, etc. I give whatever support you need throughout the entire process. Many clients keep me on after the book is completed to help them vet their next best steps for their business goals.
The result of our book coaching relationship is a book you are proud of and excited to share with the world.
If you need structure, organization, accountability, advice, and support while you write, you need a book coach.
If you have completed your manuscript, (congratulations!) you need developmental editing before you publish. Nothing is more heartbreaking than to put so much time and effort into writing your book and then not see it all the way through with final editing. Save money and heartache and possible embarrassment down the road by having your work professionally edited now. You want this work to reflect your expertise, credibility, and your heart. Editing is so much more than proofreading for grammar, typos, and punctuation.
A developmental editor ensures clarity, consistency, and continuity of message as well as the structure and organization of your manuscript. Sometimes even moving one paragraph can have a tremendous impact.
You want all the right pieces in the right place. You want a coherent and engaging book. When someone reads this work, they are reading YOU. Are you putting your best foot forward? If you have any doubt at all, let’s talk.
My clients come to me for finesse and polish. Corporate clients hire me because they know they write short and “technical” and need their writing softened. Many clients come to me for major overhaul. Some just need a little bit of tweaking and cleanup. We can have a chat and review of your manuscript to determine what level of editing you need. As developmental editor, I am your safety net.
BIRTH THAT BOOK!
My clients include speakers, coaches, consultants, corporate professionals, doctors, dentists, lawyers, therapists, financial professionals, health and wellness professionals, chiropractors, moms, professors, business owners, inventors, investors, martial artists, leaders, trainers, healers, spiritual coaches, success coaches, laughter leaders, dancers, athletes, athletic coaches, and …you.
I know how important your book is to you. Let me help you bring forth your mission/message/movement. Let’s talk about your project and how I can support you. It’s time to birth that book.
