I've been writing my weekly newspaper column since May 2001. It's like a
letter  to a friend. Reader response has been terrific, and because people
who aren't even related to me asked, I've compiled over 40 "reader
favorite" columns into a little book: When Life Stinks, It's Time to Wash the
Gym Clothes.

I love writing my column, but the pay is not enough to keep me in cookies
and soda, so most of my time is spent as a ghostwriter: writing for other
people, under their names. It's enjoyable. It pays.  It's strictly confidential.

Now a book exists with my name on it, that I can talk about freely.  It's been
called witty, pithy, and real. The silly and  serious issues of life are tackled:
kids, crushes (still boy crazy after all these years) and dog hair; addictions,
the year in France, and laundry.
